                           CULTURALS RULES AND REGULATIONS



1.Solo Dance

 Display your individual brilliance, be the star of the stage that’s all yours. The stage gives you the chance to flaunt your best moves and elegance. This is your chance to free yourself and express the best.


Time limit is 4-5 minutes. 

Negative points for exceeding the time limit.

Please prepare your own CD, every participant must be college student and ID card is compulsory

The participants are requested to bring two CDs to avoid technical disturbance. 

No extra time shall be given for installing CDs. It should be done prior to the event.

The participants will be judged on their costumes, visual presentation and dance form.

There is no particular theme.

Participants should get their own props. All props must be specified to the event coordinator.

Lighting of matchsticks, candles and cigarettes or any derogatory acts are strictly not allowed on stage.

Choice of song is open to the participants.

Any obscene/offensive music/song is not allowed.

No revealing costumes.

The decision of Judges will be final and binding.


2.Group Dance


Being one of the most popular events, Group dance is the dance extravaganza. Flashy costumes, loud make-up and the outstanding choreography make a dance team the best!


One entry per college.

Time limit is 6-8 minutes for each performance. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.

Each team may have 6-12 members

Please prepare your own CD, every participant must be college student and ID card is compulsory

Choice of songs is open to the participants.

groups must register at the location 45 minutes before the competition start

The participants are requested to bring CD, Pen drive to avoid technical disturbance. Out of which, they are also requested to submit one with the coordinator of the event.

No props will be provided by the coordinators. Participants can carry their own props.

Dance performance should not convey any indecent gestures.

Green room would be given for costume changing purpose.

No revealing costumes

The participants will be judged on the basis of their rhythm, formation, synchronization, expressions, and costumes, makeup, setup and overall effects.

Decision of the judges will be final and binding.



3.Solo Singing


All the singers, it is time to pull up your socks as solo singing challenge is coming your way. You have the chance to exhibit your singing skills.

Time allotted for each performance is 2-3 minutes.

Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing.

The participants will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity, rhythm and their appeal to the audience.

The participants should bring their own musical instruments if required in the performance.

Choice of song is open to the participants but the song should not have any slangs or derogatory language.



4. Duet/Group Singing


Duration of song: Maximum  4 minutes 


Specific rules:


1. Participants can sing any song in English or Tamil, based on the theme set by the Competition Committee.

2. Back-up dancers and/or singers are not allowed. Pianists or guitarists are not allowed to

Perform together with the participants from preliminaries onwards.


3. Timing begins:


(a) When music begins or when music is used or;


(b) At first vocal utterance of performer without musical accompaniment.


4. Participants who do not begin performing within 45 seconds after the competition begins will

    be disqualified.

5. Costumes worn must be appropriate to the song, and must not be too revealing in any

    manner.

6. Participants are not allowed to repeat their performance in the event of a mistake made

unless required by the jury.

7. The Competition Committee reserves the right to modify the Competition Rules at any time

    at its sole discretion.
